In an interview to Finnish magazine Kauppalehti Optio, Nokia design chief Marko Ahtisaari has confirmed Nokia is working on a tablet. And this is the first time Nokia has officially confirmed that they working on a product.
“As reported by Reuters, Marko Ahtisaari quoted “We are working on it,” in the interview. He also said that he is spending a third of his time on creating a tablet, which would stand out among hundreds of iPad-challengers. Nokia’s Chief Executive Stephen Elop has said the category is interesting for the Finnish company, but has stressed the need for a different approach to numerous rivals trying to battle against the dominance of Apple’s iPad.”
It is expected that Nokia will launch an own tablet using Microsoft’s Windows 8 software later this year in Nokia World 2012, which is taking place in Helsinki for the first time.
