The Verge reports that Nokia is planning to launch a new Lumia Windows Phone handset with 41 Megapixel Pureview camera, codenamed “Nokia EOS”, coming later this year.
Sources familiar with the Finnish manufacturer’s plans have informed The Verge that the company is planning to launch a new Lumia Windows Phone that will include a similar camera sensor that’s found on Nokia’s 808 PureView handset, though there’s no word on whether it’ll have a Xenon flash as well. The Nokia EOS, will sport the new aluminum body, rather than the typical polycarbonate found on recent Lumia Windows Phones. Also the upcoming new handset will have completely new design - rocking “squared edges” on its aluminium body.
This new high-end PureView device will be completely different from “Nokia Catwalk”, which is supposed to be the successor to the Lumia 920 coming later this year. Nokia is also rumored to announce a mid-range Lumia smartphone and a Windows RT tablet along with EOS & Catwalk.
